Bridges

COWI, formerly Flint & Neill, provides innovative and advanced engineering solutions to a variety of bridge projects and clients worldwide. We adapt to the evolving needs of our clients and retain our world leading position as specialist civil and structural engineers.

We have been involved in the design of numerous bridge projects around the world, such as the Osman Gazi bridge in Turkey – the world’s fourth longest suspension bridge; to the Bridge of Aspiration - one of our flagship bridges, even though it has one of the shortest spans we've worked on in our 50 year history, at only 12 metres!

But our bridge engineering services cover the entire life cycle of a bridge, not just the design.

From planning and feasibility, to operation and maintenance, or even decommissioning when required, COWI offers seamlessly integrated services in all aspects of bridge engineering, as well as other areas including roads and railways, environment, traffic planning and operation. We can handle the entire project, or we can step in at any given moment to provide your project with that extra expertise you need.

We have always been committed to solving problems through a sound understanding of structural behaviour, never afraid to move outside the scope of codes and standards to apply engineering first principles where necessary. This approach has regularly enabled us to tackle new problems of significant complexity and has led to our involvement with the development and drafting of codes of practice for a variety of engineering applications.

We work for a wide range of clients, including public clients, private developers and contractors.
